A 4-player competitive multiplayer game. Collect objects while avoiding obstacles.
GENRE: Arcade Mini-Game, 4-Player Local Competitive || PLATFORM(S): PC, MAC, WEB
This game was made over the course of 4 days and released on Christmas Eve. I had just finished my first semester of my third year at George Brown College. I was feeling very restless and I felt I had to work on something. In addition to restlessness, I thought it would be fun to have a game to present to my family for Christmas.
Christmas Eve Sprint is based on a mini-game featured in Pokemon Stadium 2 on the N64. The mini-game in question is Delibird’s Delivery and it is one of my favourites. I thought it would make a good themed game for Christmas time.
Other than the origins of the game there isn’t much more to say. The game is fairly straightforward. One thing of note is that though the game is local multiplayer in its released form, I do have a networked version working and it works fairly well. I added networking for my Multiplayer Systems class. When I have a little more time I’ll update the game to have networked multiplayer (I have to add a proper UI). It may have to wait for next Christmas. 🙂
